“So, tell me why you would like to work with us?”.
This question seems simple enough but if you haven’t prepared your response, you risk failing miserably.
Interviews are competitions, whether you like to think so or not. Employers see many different candidates for the same position and a person who has done their research on the company stands out from the crowd. Here are three things to do before the big day.
Research. Before your interview, read about the company, even if you think you know a lot about it already. Go to their homepage and learn about their philosophy and their goals, read up on any news articles concerning them and find reviews from former employees on Glassdoor. Companies like to see that you know details about them that others may not have taken the time to learn.
Personalize it. What about this company attracts you? Do they have a good reputation for helping with humanitarian causes? Have you read something in the news about them that shed a positive light on their work practices? Knowing these types of details about the company and showing them that you admire them, makes you a more personable candidate that they will want to get to know better.
Make an impact. When a company takes on a new employee a relationship begins and as we all know, good relationships rely on an equal balance of give and receive. Usually, you have certain details about what you will receive (i.e., salary details, benefits, etc.), but what information does the potential employer have about your end of the deal? When posed with the question “Why do you want to work with us,” this is the perfect time for you to say how you intend to help them. What exactly do you intend to do for them in order to help them?
Interviews can be stressful but the more you know about the company, the more comfortable you will feel. Good luck to you all out there and don’t forget, Elkho Group is here to help you land that perfect job, confidentiality assured.
