JP Morgan Private Bank yesterday announced that Steve Wainwright has been named Managing Director and senior Banker to the firm’s Middle East and North Africa (Mena) team in Geneva. Wainwright will join an award-winning team of advisors providing investments advice and generational wealth planning for ultra-high net worth clients and prospects across the Mena region.
Reporting to Tara Smyth, MENA Market Manager for JP Morgan Private Bank, Wainwright brings decades of experience in wealth management. “Providing goals-based, sophisticated wealth planning advice is the hallmark of our business,” Smyth said.
“Steve’s deep understanding of the Middle East and North Africa market, extensive background in relationship management, business acumen and overall leadership will be invaluable as we grow the preeminent team in wealth management.”
Prior to joining JP Morgan, Wainwright was an 18-year executive at Deutsche Bank (Suisse) SA. Most recently, he served as Managing Director and Head of Wealth Management for the Middle East & Africa Markets and as a Member of the Deutsche Bank (Suisse) SA Executive Board. In this role he was responsible for overseeing the firm’s top-segment clients in the region.
During his tenure at Deutsche Bank Wainwright held management positions in client relationship management and wealth structuring. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Wainwright worked at Kleinwort Benson/Dresdner Bank, where he held a number of wealth management positions in Zurich and the Cayman Islands.
